15th Fave Character 2016: Mikaela Hyakuya

Idk if any of you have watched the dub for Owari no Seraph, but scripting is SO SAVAGE. like It's no wonder Yuu turns into the fucking king of salt, Everyone around him salts him all the goddamn time in the dub.
as far as OnS goes as a series it's decent. the male characters are dynamic and interesting. The Female characters are all the same, barring shinoa who's the same with a little extra sass and salt added. There's nothing particularly standout in it Aside from its GORGEOUS Art style. It's an interesting take on the vampire motif that's not cringe and that alone is impressive tbh.

Mikaela is one of my favorite characters because of his whole approach to scenarios, and how much he changes from his traumatic childhood experience, him as a character is incredibly deep and well written imo. He changes a lot after you know, seeing his whole family killed, but he's still as determined as he was before, and he's still as caring although more reserved. I think he's written realistically. I also appreciate that they didn't over-angst him. That was a very real possibility that I feared, but it didn't happen which is fire.

This piece I was playing around with pose more than anything. There wasn't any particular thing I was striving for. I do like this amount of background however. I'm reaching a style I like in some ways, but I still want to try a lot of other ways of approaching digital art.
